2021.09.21 12:37 Sogeking162 Auto tick generator
I am currently on a vanilla train-cityblocks attempt with a tick based demand setup. So every product does have its own tick-number where Trains know if there is a full output or an empty input anywhere on the map. Every input station generates a one tick demand signal wich is converted at my Network control center into a static signal to call trains only once. (without this control center i got the problem, that more trains was called for one demand. do not know why) At this control center there is also a tick to static converter for my storage tick wich can be used for status visuals.
My problem is, that i have to prepare every station on witch tick they have to send their signals. Is there an easy way to automatically generate the right tick signal at a central point for every station? ( maybe with 2 or 3 combinators per tick) Or do i have to build a really big control unit for that purpose? My tick to static converters are around 20 combinators for every tick i can use and I have over 70. Not all in use but I wanted to be prepared for future me and his dump ideas :D.
thanks for help :)

2021.09.21 12:37 NEETpride The Big Lie: the reason why your life is reasonably comfortable is the current societal structure
"Aren't you comfortable? Delivery pizza, delivery weed, nearly ubiquitous internet, free video games, etc. That all exists because of the current system. That's because our politicians are doing a great job. If you want to change the system, that means you want to give up all your creature comforts. You HAVE to martyr yourself >:)"
Wrong. Technology is what makes us comfy, not government policy and not the Capitalist system. There is no reason why the internet or houses or GMOs would magically disappear if we changed the structure of society to be more conducive to living rather than working. But changing society through policy from the top-down is far less effective than creating technology that renders the existing system vestigial.
If you want to make the world a better place, your time is better spent inventing new technology than political activism or shitposting. Getting started in hobbyist electronics is cheap and getting started in software design is even cheaper. If you have a little more money on hand you can even get into CRISPR biohacking. It's feasible to splice together, say, dandelions with potatoes to have nutritious weeds autonomously growing everywhere, but Monsanto won't even try because it'd be impossible to profit from. Even "worse", nutritious weeds would remove one of the main reasons people work in the first place: avoiding starvation.
Consider the huge number of people Bitcoin has already lifted out of poverty, myself included. There is no policy prescription that could be that effective. Bitcoin was likely created by a small team of amateurs, though because we don't actually know the identity of Satoshi, it may very well have been a single person. They didn't ask for permission to change the world for the better. Neither should we.
Don't worry, I practice what I preach. I'm ordering $1,000 worth of CRISPR nucleases and gear and attempting to splice together a more nutritious weed. Sure, it MAY be a waste of bitcoin but I'm willing to take that risk for the good of humanity. But more importantly, it sounds like fun.
