2022.01.25 17:06 TheBigGuy1978 Vaterra glamis front wheel/tire size

I am building a traxzas slash dune buggy inspired rig. I love the look and the size of the Vaterra Glamis front tires. Which seem to be readily available. But, I cannot find any wheels for them, and every picture I see the Glamis has the stock wheels. Which makes me think they may be some wonky 1 off size.
Does anyone around here still have a Glamis?? Any help?

Hello everybody, I’m from my Nation’s capital city looking to make some new friends and chat about anything under the sun. My interests include hockey, interior design, snowboarding, music, stocks/crypto, TV/movies, video games, podcasts and more. Right now I’m spending most of my time renovating my sisters house and my grandparents cottage. Old or young, your gender doesn’t matter, I’m just looking forward to chatting with people given that bars/ social spots are closed in my city. Thanks!!

2022.01.25 17:06 RocketSquid3D [ARCADE][BEFORE 1996] Cyberpunk Style 3rd Person Rail Shooter

I think my info is 32+ years old, so bare with me -
It's a sprite based game that played a lot like Starfox or After Burner. I want to say it had a graphical style a lot like the sega genesis games. You flew a hovercar through a dark cyberpunk style city, although I might be wrong about the city.
The thing that sticks out most to me is that either at a certain point of the game or after getting a certain power up a pair of mechanical legs would drop out of the bottom of the car and just sort of dangle. No arms or head would appear.
The arcade cabinet itself was a mostly enclosed cockpit style that was surprisingly low to the ground. It didn't move or have any doors. I remember it being painted like the vehicle in the game, with a lot of greys and black.

2022.01.25 17:06 teaandcoffee717 I cleaned my period mess so his mom didn't have to: AVOID MAMAS BOYS AT ALL COSTS.

Context: My ex was 23 living with his parents... and I was 20 at the time. He has a weird attachment to his parents , esp his mom. He would also compete with me on the "whose more independent and struggled more?" category, and it would manifest in his actions in such subtle ways. He would act like I was a child that didn't know how to do anything – so he could feel better about himself. This is something I remember he did that made me realize he was actually the child.
One random day at his home, his mother was going to change his bedsheets and then he tells his mom "can you teach her how to change a bed?" And I was like ?????? What? His mom (who is a sweet woman) was like "Come here! I'll show you!" Important thing to note: I KNOW HOW TO MAKE A BED WTF. I never gave him the impression that I didn't! I was so confused when he looks at me and tells me its an important thing to learn.
I felt so awkward that he just left me to his mom, and I didn't have the guts to tell her no (which he weaponized later on) So I was just stuck helping her make a bed while she gave the tutorial.
At another time, my ex and I were having sex at night, and it was near my menstrual cycle date and it induced my period to come early. It was dark so neither of us realized until he went to the bathroom first to clean up – and saw blood on him. The second he mentioned it, I gasped and looked down at the bed and saw that I leaked a little on his white bedsheets. I profusely apologized and luckily he was calm about it and made a few "looks like a murder scene" jokes here and there (it didnt even lol, it was a small blood stain)
What threw me off is when he said to just throw the bedsheets into the laundry basket so his mom could clean it ... and I was like Hol Up. "I'm not letting your mom clean my period stain. Why can't you?"
He said "it's not a big deal, she'll understand. Or I can just tell her the blood is from something else."
His mom seeing the blood isn't an issue because she's an understanding woman... the problem is, is that it wasn't her responsibility to clean my mess. I kept asking him why can't he just do it before I asked "you do your own laundry right?" He said nothing so I sighed and said "I'm taking the sheets and I'll clean them."
So it was 1am when I got home and got to clean the sheets. Why did I do it really? Well he made me feel adequate about the whole "learning how to change bedsheets" tutorial that I wanted to prove I can hold my own and clean my own mess. What I never noticed is that he didn't take responsibility because he probably didn't know how to, didn't want to or just wanted to involve his mom in our relationship AGAIN, or was training me to be a Mom with benefits - maybe all of the above?
I think i'd make a part two on his weird behaviour with his mom so that people can see why its such a red flag to date a mamas boy. Ladies, if your man can't take care of a damn period stain, or his own clothes for the matter, and his bedsheets? Girl RUN.

2022.01.25 17:06 chaffXgrenade Some [Hopefully] Helpful Tips for Getting More Surveys Done

I've been starting to hit my stride with Survey Junkie again lately, and I wanna try and help folks out here who may be struggling to get some surveys done, so I figured I'd just share some thoughts/suggestions based on how I go about using SJ on a daily basis.

  1. Try every single survey. You never know which ones you'll qualify for or not until you actually click on them and find out. Best-case scenario: surprisingly, you qualify and make it to the end. If not, you'll get kicked, but hey--at least you'll always get 2-3 points for trying (save for the "this survey has closed" situations and the like). Every attempt matters and those "pity" points will add up over time.
  2. Don't let the estimated completion times intimidate you. You can get surveys done in far less time than advertised. I don't know where market research companies get their time estimates from (first-time testers, maybe?) but they're almost always completely off. Just earlier today, I had a 35-point survey about internet services that expected 20 minutes of my time to complete. I finished it in three.
  3. Don't give yourself more work. Apologies in advance if this bends or breaks Rule 4 of this subreddit, but I feel this is a fair suggestion. Often, surveys will have a question where it shows a list of brands, names, concepts, etc. and ask if you've heard of or interacted with them. It's fine to select as many as you do recognize, but depending on the survey, this means you'll end up having to review images and answer questions about every single item that you selected. I make this easier on myself my limiting my selections to three items at the most, preferably things that I know well and not just recognize. This way, I can still give honest responses on something I'm familiar with, without having to do it a dozen times over (or more) because I selected more items than I should have.
  4. Take a break. I know it can be frustrating when you're near-constantly getting disqualified, overquota'd, or instantly kicked for "breaking one of these rules" (I hate those with a burning passion) for one stupid reason or another, but don't let it get to you. If you feel yourself getting heated, just step back and take a break. Plenty of surveys show up over the course of the day, so you'll have more than enough chances later.
  5. Survey Junkie is a side hustle, so treat it like one. The second most popular FAQ item on the main site straight-up tells you that you won't "get rich" taking surveys on SJ. It's no replacement for a proper, steady income from a normal job. Think of it as a way to make a little extra cash here and there to treat yourself to small things you'd rather not buy with your regular income, or save up over time for something slightly bigger.
That's, uh... about it, I guess.

2022.01.25 17:06 Adventurous_Tie_9656 Where is the actual study where they found thunder is 120 decibels?

I keep reading on the internet that thunder is 120 decibels.
But when I used my reliable sound meter and measured the loudest thunder booms when the lightening was within 1 second of the thunder I got nothing even remotely close to that. I did these tests this past summer in Arizona when there was freakish lightening all over the place.
I know there is bias to believe what you read on the internet, especially when it's posted so many times, and everyone comments from the position where they assume it's true, so I ask that you please keep in mind that may be affecting you when you read my question.
I'm looking for any youtube video or published study where they have measured this. Not just word of mouth or expert-said.
I'm thinking that 120 db is the loudest thunder boom ever and the meter was perfectly aligned right at the source.
