2022.01.25 17:55 Spardacas Toronto Speed Trap Ticket Charges vs Ontario Ticket Charges

I just got a ticket in the mail for having my car go 65 in a 50 zone in Toronto. I was shocked at how much the ticket was for, $100! I would have assumed that this sort of speed would only be around $50. According to an Ontario speeding website (https://ontariospeeding.com/speeding-ticket-penalties/speeding-ticket-fines/) the fine should only be $52.50. Is the city of Toronto trying to pull a fast one here and up charge on tickets? This website says that prices are set by the chief justice of Ontario but I'm not sure where to find that official information as this website doesn't appear to be run by the province. Anyone on here dealt with the Toronto speed trap tickets before?

2022.01.25 17:55 jahn2019 Parent’s finances

Rents are both mid-50s and never planned or invested for their retirement (not to say there was ever much to save anyhow). I don’t have the bandwidth or frankly the knowledge to manage their finances so pushed them to hire an advisor with Merrill Lynch (0.45% annual fee seemed immaterial).
Year later and they’re in a moderate risk portfolio but the advisor is not very helpful and hasn’t been responsive for the past month. Not naive to the reality that my parents aren’t millionaires but increasingly frustrated with the (lack of) service. I expected the advisor to provide updates on the portfolio and ultimately be an advocate for my folk’s retirement planning but realizing that’s unlikely to happen.
Is there a “working-class” friendly financial services company anyone can recommend or am I better off just managing their investments directly? The service would have to be pretty compelling to move all of my parent’s assets over but I’m reaching out because:
1) it feels like no one is monitoring my parent’s nest egg 2) it’s incumbent upon me to remediate this given that I’m the one who pushed them for an advisor in the first place
Thanks for any insight in advance.

2022.01.25 17:55 Insertsillyfruithere Game suggestions

I need a suggestion for a roguelike; I play a lot of like Arma 3(mil-sim stuff) and the like; I also rather enjoy Roguelikes like Gunfire Reborn, City of Brass, Slay the Spire among a few others that don't come to mind right now.
Is there anything like military-esque shooter(Both first-person or third-person work) roguelike/rogue-lite or is that too niche of a category for it? I just want something that fits the theme somewhat so I could stream it.

2022.01.25 17:55 Whitebeltforeva Yuck- been sick but on the mend…

Pretty sure we caught wonderful C-19 variant. Been down about 5 days. Only thing I’ve been able to do is the stretches. (Due to fevecough) On month 5 post op. Figured a week down won’t destroy my progress as long as I keep my mobility and ROM. Hoping to be back at PT homework tomorrow night, if not hopefully in a few more days!🤞It’s a long ACLR recovery so I figure a week is nothing.

2022.01.25 17:55 tzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Share your tips transitioning from both parents at home to dad back to work !

Hi new parents! Can you share your tips/guidance for me, my partner is going back to work next week.
Our baby will be a month old and it’s felt fairly manageable so far but I think that’s largely to do with having us both able to devote all our time to her. I’m feeling a bit anxious about him going back to work and would love some thoughts!

2022.01.25 17:55 Key-Amoeba8901 Opinions on ‘cross skill’ & hybrid roles

Hi guys! Just wanted to get everyone’s opinions and experience on employers asking employees to cross skill with no pay bump and call it an opportunity to improve your skill sets etc.
Recently my company has begun to hybridize roles and/or ask employees with other skills to go back to their old department for a ‘short period of time’ to assist with high volumes - this is without a pay bump.
IMO I find it kind of unfair to put someone back to their old department (I mean I left for a reason…) and essentially asked to do 2 jobs with no extra pay. I hate this culture of never saying no because of being afraid your managehigher ups may see this as you not being a ‘team player’ and not provide you with new opportunities to advance. I wanted to note I do not work for a small company.
I’m curious to know if any other companies are doing this and/or your opinion or how should I approach this? Am I just being narrow minded? Thanks everyone.
